American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. BLS for the Healthcare Provider has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The recognized certification period is up to 2 years.
The American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training. This training meets the requirements for medical students attend University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Hondros College of Nursing, Galen College, Northern Kentucky University, The Christ College of Nursing and many other colleges and hospitals.
Recommended time to complete:
•Initial training - 3-4 hours
•Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a prescribed instruction time. A written evaluation is required for the American Heart Association Health Care Provider course.
